First day of First Grade

So excited for my Bode-man! He has been looking forward to this day for a long time. I mean what more can you ask for, three recesses and lunch at school! He is pretty excited.
We picked him out some school clothes and I got him some pretty sweet basketball shorts and t-shirts, thinking that is was what he liked. Well, the first day of school he picked out some plaid shorts to wear, and the second day he wanted to wear them again. I love that he likes to look nice. Just a little different than his Dad who thinks a nice outfit it some new basketball shorts and a shirt that fits good. Love that he is like that too:)
After he got all ready for school we went to the bus stop as a family and watched him go off with all the cute kids in the neighborhood. I found myself saying a prayer as the bus drove away. Its hard to realize that you can't be there to help him when things go wrong and when kids are mean to him. But I felt comforted knowing he is a confident kid.
So when Bode arrived home from school I was so excited to hear about his day, but I didn't want to bombard him with a lot of questions. So he started talking and I listened. First he told me about this little brown guy that was disrupting all the classes. As a class they were trying to catch him and the little brown man would leave clues throughout the school. I asked him if he was a real person and he said "yeah I saw him" and he said "one of the teachers was chasing him down the hall!" I really couldn't figure out what he was talking about so he moved on to something different. Then he goes on to tell me about a kid who punched him in the face. I calmly just listened and tried to figure out what in the world he was talking about. He said some kid was telling him that he was wasn't the leader when he was the leader and it made him mad and the kid pushed him and he pushed him back and kicked in the stomach and the other kid punched him in the head and kicked him in the place that counts. I couldn't believe what he was telling me, but I said oh, well interesting and he went and played. Then I hurried and called his teacher, she didn't see the boys fighting and she cleared up the confusion about the little brown guy who was actually the gingerbread man who they chased around the school to find clues to tach then about each area. It's so funny to try and understand a kids mind, pretty interesting first day.

Farmers Market/ Fair

Treehouse

It's been way too long since I have taken my kids to play all day at the Treehouse museum. It was so so so fun! I pretty much dread any field trips to the place but for some reason just going with my kids was so fun. Hawk loved the maps of Utah and the United States. Raini loved the Art Garden where she did a couple of crafts, and Bode loved the rodeo display. he was trying to buck himself of. It was so fun to just chill and watch the kids play. These are the days that I love I get to be with these cute kids all day.

Bear Lake

Summer Fun!

Grandma Knudsen, loving Baby Cole. The other kids demand her attention all of the time so she finally is getting to hold the baby. This was a little trip we took to the Cabin. Right when we got there, Lydia and Hawk got stung by bees and during the whole trip the bees where out to get those kids. We left early, not cool!

Hanging at Grandma Pedersen's house. It was great to see how much fun a blowup pool can be for three kids.

They love their babies, as they watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in the morning.

Soon to be best buddies. So excited that Jared and Stacey made the big move to Utah! The older kids were playing night games, which brought back so many memories of my childhood.
Gotta love date night to the Ogden Rodeo with great friends. It was so fun, with an absolute beautiful atmosphere.
Cute purse....
Love that Guy!
